The Embassy of Ukraine in Montenegro together with the Ukrainian Association "Dobra Sprava" opened the first Ukrainian center in Podgorica.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to Montenegro Oleg Gerasimenko and the Mayor of Podgorica Ivan Vukovich held the opening ceremony. Numerous representatives of the diplomatic corps, local authorities, and the Ukrainian community attended the event.

"This Ukrainian center opens a qualitatively new page in the life of our community in Montenegro and is a solid step forward in the self-organization of local Ukrainians. It will combine the functions of a crisis headquarters to provide comprehensive support and assistance (from material to legal) to Ukrainian refugees, as well as a cultural and educational platform for Ukrainian children and adults," the embassy's page says.

It should be emphasized, that Podgorica shows a friendly attitude towards Ukraine and Ukrainian immigrants. The main financial sponsor of the opening of the Ukrainian Center was "Zapad banka". It is planned to open similar centers in Bari and Herceg-Novi, which will significantly strengthen support for Ukrainian migrants.
