Daniel Dalton was elected as Conservative MEP for the West Midlands in January 2015.Daniel is Coordinator for the ECR Group on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee (IMCO), where he has been involved in a significant number of trade and digital single market-related legislation. Daniel is rapporteur on the regulation on type approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles which is currently in the final stages of negotiation.Additionally, Daniel is a member of the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee (LIBE), where he has been shadowing the e-privacy regulation and has recently been appointed rapporteur on the European criminal records information system.Particular areas of interest for Daniel include, e-commerce, the Internet of things, automation and the wider digital revolution.Prior to entering politics, Daniel was a professional cricketer for Warwickshire County Cricket Club, amongst others, and before his election to the European Parliament, Daniel worked for five years as a political adviser on international trade and agriculture for the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) Group.
